THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CAMERA RULES THE WORLD
The DWC, Inc. will host the Fourth Annual Detroit Women of Color International Film Festival on September 27-29, 2019. The primary goal of the festival is to provide a much-needed voice of Black and Brown girls and women around the world through high quality films. The Detroit Women of Color International Film Festival showcases exceptional films and videos that span racial identity, sexuality, science-fiction, crime, mystery, relationships, politics, history, empowerment, healing, hip hop, cultural traditions, spirituality, love, animation, and experimental art. The festival allows us to reach communities which have little or no access to progressive and independent films and videos. Our film festival is held annually at the world renowned Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in the heart of the cultural district of Detroit. Our diverse audiences have included women, men, and young people of all races, religions, generational, and economic backgrounds from Metro Detroit and Canada.
