The Detroit Women of Color, Inc. distinguishes itself from other local film festivals and programs that strictly focus on entertainment. We believe in the power of Black and Brown girls and women to shape their own stories and change the world. We nurture leaders to use their collective voices to advocate for their rights, develop a marketable skill set that expands beyond filmmaking, and produce media innovators who redefine the way girls and women of color are perceived.
